Old Bridge Tutorial

Welcome to this tutorial ( 2 hours ) on creating an old bridge in Houdini! In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use Houdini's powerful procedural modeling tools to create a fancy and stylized old bridge.

Aged bridges have their own charm and character, and creating a stylized one in Houdini can be a rewarding challenge.

You'll start by setting up your scene, then learn how to model the various components of the bridge, including the walls, stones, erosion, damping it and creation of the grout through VDB.

Once you have the model complete, you'll dive into texturing, using Houdini's procedural color tools to add variation and grime to the bridge using attributes. You'll also learn how to render it on the new Karma XPU.

By the end of this tutorial, you'll have gained valuable experience in Houdini procedural modeling techniques, and enable you to create different types of objects with the same technique. Let's get started!
